The Waitaki Summer Music Camp is an opportunity for musicians of all ages to play orchestral, chamber and concert band music in a relaxed, sociable and fun environment supported by experienced tutors.
It is held each January at Waitaki Boys' High School in Oamaru. There are two programmes: the chamber music programme, usually run over the first four days, and the orchestral programme, run over the following week. Musicians are welcome to attend one or both of these.
Families are particularly welcome - each year we have parents, brothers and sisters playing together in the same ensembles.
As a guide, you need to be of grade seven standard or above. We don't have auditions. Have a look at the music performed in previous years - this may help you decide if you would enjoy taking part.
