Venue and Accommodation

We use Waitaki Boys High School's splendid auditorium, classrooms and common rooms as rehearsal and performance venues

Most people live on site and dine together in the school's cafeteria. Special food requirements are met by the school's experienced cook.

On site accommodation is available in the Waitaki Boys High Hostel. There are single rooms and dormitories with shared toilet and shower facilities. The dormitory is open plan with partitions between bed bays and suits the young. You should bring your own bedding (including pillow) and towels. Mattresses are provided.

You can also camp on site at non powered sites with toilet and shower block close by.

Off site - make your own bookings at one of the many motels around Oamaru.

Suggestions for things to bring

Bedding, including a pillow (some people find it useful to bring a single fitted sheet to cover the mattress)
Towel (some people find it useful to bring a clothes line as well)
Home baking (or supermarket baking) for supper and morning/afternoon teas.
Your own refreshments for evening socialising (in the dining room only)
Torch (especially if sleeping in a dorm or tent)
Tidy clothes for concert - not black, just tidy
Music, music stand (named), pencil/eraser, spare strings/reeds (or what ever you need for your instrument), your instrument!
Recreational gear for tennis, cycling, swimming, walking, star gazing, juggling, kite-flying......
